Compliance certificates (gas, electrical, PAT)
Certificates is where you draft, issue, and manage UK compliance records — landlord gas safety (CP12), gas installation (GIC), electrical installation (EIC), electrical installation condition reports (EICR), minor electrical works (MEWC), PAT testing, and custom certificates with your own title and body text.
Before you issue
The first time you create or issue a certificate, you must read and accept the compliance certificates legal notice. Quotimiser formats and stores records; you remain responsible for accurate content and for holding valid registration (for example Gas Safe Register for gas work, or NICEIC/NAPIT for electrical work).
Create a draft
- Open Certificates and choose New certificate, or use New certificate on an invoice detail page to link the record to that job.
- Select the certificate type and complete the form. Use UK address lookup on property fields where shown.
- Pick a saved client where the form offers a client picker (for example landlord on CP12). Set default registration numbers and names under Settings → Business → Compliance certificates, or enter them on each certificate form.
- Save the draft. You can return later from the certificate list or invoice section.
Only one draft per invoice and certificate type is allowed — duplicate a different type or void an old issued record before creating another draft of the same type for the same invoice.
Issue, PDF, and signature
Open the draft, review the read-only summary, draw your signature, and choose Issue. Issuing locks the record and queues PDF generation. Use Download PDF on the detail page when the file is ready. You can void an issued certificate with a reason if you must withdraw it (voided records stay in your library for audit).
Email the client
On an issued certificate with a client email, use Email client. Delivery status (sent, delivered, opened) appears on the detail page — see Email clients and delivery tracking.
Invoice portal and verification
Certificates linked to an invoice appear on the client invoice portal so the customer can download PDFs — see Client portals. Each issued certificate also has a verification link and QR code on the PDF so third parties can confirm authenticity without signing in.
Custom templates
Manage reusable custom layouts at Custom templates. When you create a custom certificate, choose Start from template to pre-fill title and body text.
For renewals and expiry status by address, see Compliance renewals by property.
